Leeds Dog Training Club - covering Leeds, Harrogate, Otley & Wetherby

We run classes to suit all ages and abilities of dogs:

Beginners: Puppy Socialisation
Puppy Class
Adult Beginners
Intermediate: Grade 1 and Grade 2
Advanced: Grade 3 and Grade 4

ALL HANDLERS AND DOGS ARE WELCOME!

On contacting the Club advice will be given regarding which class will be the most suitable for you and your puppy/dog, and sometimes we use a simple assessment in order to make sure that you are both working at the correct level. Our aim is for you both to feel comfortable and happy in all your training.

All our training is done in small groups and we use reward-based training methods. The exercises that we do not only help to develop a strong working bond between you and your dog, but also help in the management of everyday situations outside of the club setting. In this way you are better able to understand your dog’s behaviour and benefit from a growing and lasting partnership with him/her.

Each of our training sessions lasts for 30 minutes and we ask that you back this up by short practice sessions at home as often as it is possible to do so. This will greatly aid your work in class.

Our members are also offered the opportunity to train for the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme Awards which we run each year. Also from time to time and subject to interest we run a scenting course.

In addition we can offer varied expertise in dog welfare, training and hobbies. Most of our trainers have experience in other disciplines eg working trials, field trials, flyball, showing, agility, competitive obedience, etc and would be happy to chat to you about these topics.
