Le Petit Nantais Bistro was established in December 1997 by Kim and Jean-Philippe Gravier and is run by them with their daughter Vicki.
The word Bistro or "Petit Restaurant d'Habitues" meaning a little local restaurant is exactly what you will experience upon arrival, traditional french bistro dishes but with a contemporary twist. Enjoy fresh fois gras marinated in Meaux mustard, served with Wasabi ice-cream. Or if you are in a more traditional mood, Filet Steak and Frites - done to perfection. "Et Voila!"
The inspiration of the cuisine started in 1902 with JP's great Grandmother, who had a Bistro in Cholet, Western France. Some of the recipes have been passed through to the menu today complimented by JP's own inspirations available on an exubherent daily specials list. As for Kim, both of her grandfathers were Head Chefs in the Royal Navy for 25 years. One became a Publican in Paddington, and the other a Head Chef of the Carlton cinema, so it is no surprise that running a restaurant is in their blood.
All these years of experience are now being passed down to their daughter Vicki who is now managing the restaurant and provides the "young blood" needed to keep this successful business up to date and grow even further
