The Brecon Beacons is one of three National Parks in Wales and is considered by many the loveliest. The National Park covers just over 500 square miles, with the Black Mountains in the east near Crickhowell & Abergavenny, the Beacons in the middle and the Black Mountain and Carmarthen Fans in the west.
With the Usk Valley and the Brecon and Monmouth Canal running through, it is a beautiful and peaceful area, with plenty of variety, especially for those who enjoy the countryside and outdoor activities. Pen-y-Fan, the highest point in Southern Britain, rises to 2907ft and the walking here and on the neighbouring mountains is quite superb all year round.
Kiwi Cottage is a 200 year old stone cottage located in the centre of the ever-popular canalside village of Talybont-on-Usk, right in the heart of the National Park. It is so called because there is a Kiwi Fruit (male and female plants!) climbing the side wall.
The accommodation is over three levels and sleeps up to 5 people, in three bedrooms, two of which have double beds and one a single.
