Kihonkai Karate Academy

Kihonkai Karate Academy has been based in lanarkshire since 1987, over the many years we have produced,developed and promoted karate students of all ages and of all levels. Our classes throughout the local area are designed to ensure all our members get the best tuition from fully qualified instructors.

Kihonkai Karate Academy is the first Martial Arts Group to have achieved South Lanarkshire's prestigious Club SL award. We also hold accreditation awards from North Lanarkshire Council. We continue to work with the Sports Scotland Active Schools programme, through our partnership with the national governing body we strive to maintain and increase our teaching and coaching qualifications.

Our Chief Instructor Sensei Stevie Mason is a Member of the prestigous KWF Shihankai Japanese Masters Panel.

We encourage families to train and practice together, we believe that our Academy is a place where mums , dads and kids can benefit from exercising and building confidence together. Our students have represented the Academy at tournaments of national and international levels, as well as tournaments we offer our students training with the top karate instructors in the world via our membership of Yahara Sensei's Karatenomichi World Federation.

Our classes range from the very young to the young at heart, there is no age limit to practice karate. Our kids classes start at 4 years old, this class promotes fitness and life skills to our youngest members. We prepare these future black belts for life in the juinor class where the skill and disipline they have been taught allows them to join the main classes with confidence.

The junior classes develop the students from complete beginner to Brown belt level. These classses are very popular with young and old alike.
The senior classes are for the more advanced students where we have students training from Black belt to Instructor Level.

All classes have one common thread FUN, FITNESS and CONFIDENCE.
