Jessica Anderson Childminding

My name is Jessica. I am happily married with 3 children, 14 years, 6 years and 3 years... all girls!!Being a Childminder is great for me as I really love working with children and watching their development.
I love the outdoors, being active and getting creative. It's great where I live as I am in a quiet cul de sac and there are lots of nearby cycle paths and walks. The local school, East Craigs Primary is 5 minutes walk away. I can drive to local parks, beaches and woods in minutes which is so convenient for us.

My Experience
My career as a qualified Nursery nurse has been in a post of Pupil Support Assistant at a Special Needs school. I helped in a team to cater for children with complex to severe additional needs and Autism for over 7 years. As such I am able to do Gastro feeds, physio (if shown by the professional firstly), do positioning, singalong, total communication, PECs and work with a range of equipment that comes with this area.

Before that I was a Baby Room Supervisor and Nursery Nurse at a general private nursery for 3 years which was great.

My SVQ training was based in a charity nursery in Glasgow where I worked and trained for 2 years. I have good training in working with babies in making up feeds, changing and activities to enhance their development.

I have also fostered and have had current in-service training in dealing with challenging behaviours.

Baby and Child First Aid (refresher from July 2016)
PEC - Picture Exchange Communication certificate
Gastro Feed Training Certificate
MOVE stage 2 certificate
HNC Tourism Management

My Availability
Ideally I'd like to work from 7.45am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. I am willing to negotiate hours that are slightly outwith these times.
Babysitting some evenings is fine.
