I.T. Skills 4 Rural Kenya

ITS4RK targets and works with community based organizations in rural Kenya seeking to increase the uptake of ICTs to rural villages in Kenya. Over the last three years ITS4RK has piloted two projects with two communities in Kenya; these communities are Kibugat Information and Communication Technology Centre, (KICTC) in Rift valley and Antubochiu Information and Communication Technology centre, (AICTC) in the Eastern provinces respectively. Both organisations are now operational. KICTC anticipates serving 4,500 people from Kibugat Location meet their ICT demands in the next five years. Antubochiu targets 6,000 community members over the same period. Our immediate strategy is to work towards meeting the equipment and IT teacher demand which we anticipate will rise by 10 % per year in each centre.
