A Traditional Crafts and Skills Fayre in Spencer's Field, Gurnard, which will take place this year on bank holiday Monday 2nd of May 2016 from 1pm until 5.30pm in conjunction with the Gurnard Village Fair. This is an annual charity event and the final day of a weekend of events to raise money for the Gurnard scout and guide groups. All money raised this year will go towards repairs to the scout hut roof.
The craft fayre focuses purely on Traditional Crafts and skills like Wood turning; Wood carving; Blacksmithing; Saddlery; basketry; quilting; lacemaking etc. So, if you would be interested in coming along to demonstrate your skill and knowledge please contact me on the number below.
We have had an excellent response from this page and we have had several internationally recognised crafts people at previous shows who came along to give talks and demonstrations.
The aim of the show is to highlight traditional crafts and country skills and we encourage exhibitors to demonstrate during the day. It will be very hands-on and there will be lots to do for all the family and entry is by voluntary donation.
Apart from the Crafts there will be food, a real ale bar and plenty of activities for kids and adults alike.
