International Language Holidays

Professionals in the area of Young Learners’ English language holidays since 1988, International Language Holidays (ilh) offer students short, intensive summer courses which are designed to maximise students’ understanding of and increase their confidence in the use of the English language.

We are a family owned, independent provider with our own separate Accreditation with the British Council.

From our students’ first day with us to their last, we make sure they are free to learn English in a safe, relaxed environment. Our summer courses offer an opportunity for children and teenagers (aged 12-17) to develop confidence in the use of the English language in a variety of situations during lessons and whilst enjoying a range of social, cultural and sporting activities and excursions. It is our belief that taking a study holiday in an environment with students from other countries offers an excellent opportunity to learn new skills, experience different cultures and make friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.

We accept both group and individual bookings. Our students come from over (15) countries and many return summer after summer. We also work with a network of international representatives, some of whom have been working with us since we started the junior summer courses over 25 years ago.

We have a high return rate of teaching staff, which enables continuity and a great sense of community at each Centre , and which is appreciated by the students and their group leaders. Our dedicated and enthusiastic teachers work hard to ensure classes are both educational and fun!

Our Centres are located in the east of England, near to both London and Cambridge. Centres run from mid-June to mid-August. Students can choose study at one of our homestay Centres and live with a local homestay provider, or they may choose to attend the residential Centre where they live in the College.

Students may stay for a minimum of 1 week or up to a maximum of 4 weeks.

ilh is the junior centre branch of Colchester English Study Centre (CESC). Both are wholly owned by Lexden Centres Oxford Ltd.
