Upgrade of the A1 between Coal House (junction 67) and Metro Centre (Junction 71)

Works consist of a widening the main carriageway from 2 lanes to 3 in both directions. This will be achieved by narrowing the central reserve and installing concrete barrier and widening into the verge.
New parallel link roads will also be provided between Lobley Hill (junction 68) and The A184 (junction 69), in both directions to cater for traffic travelling between the two junctions.
