Imago Dei Prison Ministry

At the heart of Imago Dei Prison Ministry is the desire to see women live out their identity and purpose. We believe that no one should be defined by their past or even their circumstances. God created mankind in his image and gave each of us unique gifts, talents, skills and purpose.

John 3:16 - 'For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that who so ever believes in Him, shall not perish but have eternal life.'

God desires relationship with each person, He loves us and wants us to live complete and whole lives. He gave his son, Jesus Christ in order for us to be saved, and live in wholeness and abundance.

John 10:10 - 'The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.'

There are many circumstances and contributing factors as to why people find themselves in prison. By helping to address these issues during the time spent in custody we believe we are offering real practical solutions and helping prisoners to become healed and whole ready for their release. We want to equip and empower people to live out their potential and not to be defined by their past.

This in turn has a knock-on effect on society; community, and family-life, particularly in helping to reduce the re-offending rate.

'The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind., to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favour.' -Luke 4v18-19
