More about Horse Chestnut Therapies

My Reiki journey started at the respected Marlborough School of Reiki in Wiltshire. I have been attuned to Master Degree level. Reiki is a non-invasive healing technique that can help to remove physical and emotional blocks in your body, improving your overall feeling of wellbeing. This also applies to your animals. I very much enjoy treating both horses and people.
I have had a natural bond with animals since childhood, I have worked hard on improving my skills and cementing this bond over the years.
Going on various courses and attending conferences to learn of different techniques.
I started training in Equine Shiatsu at The School of Equine Shiatsu in Sussex in 2016.
The word “Shiatsu” can conjures up the image of a luxury treatment given in expensive health spas or massage parlours. Undoubtedly, it does happen in these places but in reality, it is a practical and sensible therapy using gentle rotations, stretches and pressure on powerful points on meridians – in our case, given in a stable to horses! A healing art has been around for thousands of years and is a similar therapy to acupuncture but without the needles. A shiatsu practitioner uses pressure from their fingers, thumbs, palms, feet and elbows to gently interact with Chi (Qi, Ki) energy, which harmonises and balances the body leaving a feeling of wellbeing and vitality. The techniques involved improve the circulation of blood and lymph, relieve tension in the soft tissues and organs, releases toxins and boosts the immune system.
This Shiatsu training is a two and a half year course and I will be fully qualified in March 2018 to treat horse and rider. Because of the comprehensive training I have recieved, as a second year student I am insured to offer half price treatments up until 2018.

I am a qualified Equine Sports Massage Therapist - massage can be beneficial in many ways to a horse's wellbeing:-

Increasing and improving circulation
Enhance muscle tone
Relax muscle spasm
Prevent and relieve adhesions
Increase the range of movement

Massage can benefit the wellbeing of the animal, release tension and aid mental relaxation. In the event of an Injury, massage is of great benefit to aid recovery and prevent atrophy (wasting) of muscles.
At Horse Chestnut Therapies I am trying to gain as much knowledge as possible to improve the wellbeing of both horses and people so that we can all be more relaxed and in turn enjoy all life has to offer!
