Hollymoor House is an architecturally designed barn conversion, set in 7 acres with a stunning outlook over a private lake and extensive lawns. Rebuilt over the last 5 years the house boasts 4 tastefully appointed en suite bedrooms, a designer kitchen and Bar, spacious vaulted guest sitting and dining room with raised hearth and wood stove.
Rebuilt by owners Andrew and Caroline Whalley, their home is the culmination of a vision they had to create a relaxing space in which to live and now they are opening their house to guests who share their passion for food, wine and the beautiful Yorkshire countryside and gentler pace of life.
About Your Hosts
Together as a couple Andrew and Caroline have been involved in hospitality for over 20 years, they have been owner/operators of 2 successful restaurants and wine bars. Their attention to detail and hospitable personalities make them the perfect hosts.
Caroline
Caroline has been a chef for over 20 years and has worked with some of the most talented Banqueting and Restaurant Chefs in the industry both in the South and North of England. For the last 7 years she has been director of Chefs and Food at the highly acclaimed Middleton Lodge and Coach House at Middleton Tyas. She has an unending enthusiasm for everything food and cooking and you can be assured of enjoying delicious meals inspired by Yorkshire heritage and wonderful local ingredients.
Andrew
Andrew has been involved in Property developing and hospitality for over 20 years and is the main driving force behind the scenes, his passion for building has seen him design, build and finish Hollymoor House, a dream property to live in. He is a keen wine connoisseur and chief taster of all Caroline's cooking, he also makes a mean marmalade!!
About Your Stay
Rooms are available on a bed and breakfast basis but you can easily enhance your stay by adding afternoon tea on arrival and an evening meal.
Why not Indulge yourself with drinks and canapés at the bar followed by a scrumptious 3 course evening meal, the perfect way to make your stay truly worthwhile.
Bespoke stays for groups of up to 8 guests can be centred around food, wine and exploring Yorkshire’s diverse countryside, your stay will be tailored to your needs, you can choose to spend a day cooking with Caroline in her “high end, no equipment spared” state of the art kitchen, explore the stunning Yorkshire countryside, expert wine tasting with local wine merchants Bon Coeur, a days cycling in the nearby Yorkshire dales, walking on the moors, shopping in nearby Newcastle, the choices are endless and your hosts will take the strain and organise everything for you.
