AnimalShacks Small Pet Boarding

INTRODUCTION: We adore chickens at AnimalShacks, and although we sell POL hens, we also have 14 hens (and counting) of our own. These are a combination of chick-reared, waifs, strays, disabled and rescue hens. We really value the fact that you will be entrusting your hens with us during your absence and will do everything possible to keep them safe, happy and cared for!

UPON ARRIVAL: Your hen/s will undergo a quick visual check. In order to protect holiday guest hens and our resident hens, we will not be able to board any bird found to be showing obvious signs of disease/infection/infestation.

Your hen/s will be allocated a freshly cleaned, and thoroughly disinfected coop. They will enjoy fresh bedding, clean fresh water daily, Duffields Layer Pellets, oyster-shell mixed grit, shade and shelter! They will have an afternoon treat (with your agreement) of mixed corn or chicken-appropriate fruit and vegetables. They will be locked away safely every evening and let into their pens early morning. We will talk to them every day and, if you prefer, handle them daily too. For your peace of mind, we do not free-range our holiday guests!

COSTS PER NIGHT: 2 hens £4. 3 hens £4.50. 4 hens £5. 5 hens £5.50. 6 hens or more £1 on each. Discounts for flicks above 10 and for stays over 21 nights. Please ask for details.

RABBITS

Your rabbit/s will enjoy a comfy hutch set inside their own secure pen. We feed Burgess excel dry food, with daily fresh vegetables, fruit and plenty of hay. They have free access to their pen during the day and are locked I to their hutch at night for safety.

3 RABBITS SHARING £7 (MUST BE BONDED)

FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL RABBITS WHO STAY HERE WE DO INSIST ON A COPY OF THEIR MYXOMATOSIS VACCINATION. WITHOUT A CURRENT VACCINE THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO STAY.



There is a 20% booking fee to secure the booking, with the balance to be paid in cash or cleared funds at the time of the due start date.

We do, by arrangement/agreement, board cockerels at Holiday Hen, however, in addition to the normal charges, a retainer fee of £20 per cockerel (refunded when you collect) is required.

Collection times 10-midday
Other times by arrangement, we endeavour to be as flexible as possible

If you would like to take advantage of our worming service, the course is a one week course and is an additional £3 per hen.

Our main aim is for your pets to be happy and safe during their stay here...and for you to feel relaxed knowing they are being well-cared for.
