The Historical Maritime Society (HMS) aim to accurately recreate life during Nelson's Navy, WW1 and WW2. Founded in 1995 by a small group of veteran re-enactors, HMS has partaken in events across the UK, Europe and the rest of the world. The group has a small fleet of boats which include a 1805 Frigate's Launch, a WW1 Gun Boat and a WW2 Mark VIII Cockleshell Canoe. The group focus mainly on living history, however often take part in all kinds of events from The Queen's Diamond Jubilee River Pageant, to filming for the BBC.
