Heritage Farms

Welcome to Heritage Farms! We are a forwards thinking, innovative agri-business, specialising in large scale commercial beef rearing and fattening. The family partnership has been based here for 4 generations, and we now farm up to 1,000 acres of permanent grassland with up to 1,200 head of cattle spread across Derbyshire We are based on the Edge of the Peak District, with great access to local markets, abattoirs and motorway links.

We run various contracts for clients, whether it is contract rearing or livestock source and supply. Our main outlet for our beef is Abel & Cole, with Northern Catering managing the processing and delivery. Our business is Farm Assured and part of our herd is Organic. We manage our grassland extensively under Countryside Stewardship agreements, and we run sheep on tack grazing to combat weeds and keep the pastures clean.

As the agricultural economy becomes more challenging, we have capitalised on our economies of scale and ability to manage large numbers of cattle by providing a management service for other farmers/landowners. Please visit the HMS page for further details.

Heritage Farms has a dedicated team who are striving to take the business to the next level, with an open minded and inspirational approach to farming. We performance record our fattening system, which enables us to monitor the DLWG and killing out % of our cattle. This means that we are able to make informed decisions about the profitability of each individual animal and react accordingly.

In order to capitalise on our expertise and our location, we have other business ventures that complement each other - we run Eastmoor Shoot, which is a small shooting syndicate which puts down over 3000 head of pheasant, partridge and duck every year and also a pedigree flock of Texels which concentrates on the breeding and sale of top class breeding sires and DAMs.
