100 years ago the Municipal golf course was the brain child of a humble golf professional JH Taylor. The 5 times Open Champion and Winning captain for the Ryder Cup. Wanted golf to be a leisure activity for all. His ambition with the help of sponsors and golfing heroes such as Hogan, Braid and Bobby Jones help his dream come true.
Today Heaton Park Golf Centre remains true to the work of its designer and is a true and unique Municipal Golf Course. over the years it has laid claim to many compliments such a as best municipal 2006. Heralded as having one of the toughest yet beautifully intriguing par 3 by the voice of golf Peter Allis . It has
seen visits from Jack Nicholas and Paula Creamer We could go on but surpass to say come along an join us for a great day out.
