The village of Happisburgh has been home to a cricket club for over 50 years now. We run two league sides on Saturdays during the summer and one team in the Sunday league. In addition to this we also run an over 40’s midweek T20 side and are looking to run at least one youth side next summer.
Last year we had our best season ever with the Saturday first XI winning Norfolk Cricket League division one, and for the first time in the club’s history we will be playing in The Norfolk Cricket Alliance next season.
We have been given a fantastic opportunity to improve the playing facilities, including the pavilion and the field, which will benefit not only the cricket and football clubs that use these facilities, but the whole of the community of Happisburgh and its surrounding villages.
The England and Wales Cricket Board, together with the Norfolk Cricket Board and NatWest, are coming to support Happisburgh CC as part of NatWest Cricket Force 2016. We are one of only 3 clubs nationally to be chosen out of over 2200, so it is a great honour.
