Ha'Penny Park/Poldark Mine is a well known local tourist attraction in West Cornwall. Started in 1972 by Mr Peter Young who named it Wendron Forge. It has a real 18th Century Tin Mine that visitors can take a guided tour on. It then became "Ha'Penny park" as it would cost you only 1/2 penny to get in, and later became know as "Poldark Mine" after the TV Series. Mr Young then sold it on to Mr John Mc'Cloud in late 80's who ran Poldark Mine & added more items to the site which visitors loved. It's heyday was the 1980's with the long Summer evenings and bands playing live on the grounds and as during the day all the attractions were open & It would be so busy that all the car parks would be full with people parking along the Wendron to Porkellis road.
