The weekly workshops are designed to follow the seasons of the gardener's year. Introducing children to gardening at an early age has many benefits. As well as learning about gardening; children develop social skills and independence as they have fun together.
Within a controlled and safe environment, children are allowed to have a go at gardening themselves using gardening tools, giving them a sense f ownership of the plants and vegetables they are growing.
Children's communication, social and probem solving skills are stimulated as we talk about the healthly foods they ae growing,
Each week children take part in a different gardening activity. Refereshments are served, to the children and adults and we sing garden related nursery rhymes. Children take home everyting they have made, sown or planted along with a fun activity sheet.
