More about Great Witley Quarter Green

The “Quartergreen”
To celebrate, support and promote the community of Great Witley and surrounding villages.
Great Witley Village Hall is a charity run community hub in the centre of the village. It is administered by a Management Committee of volunteers and is itself a sub-committee of the Great Witley and Hillhampton Parish Council.
The “Quartergreen” (named after the Quarterman family who originally donated the land to the village) is the sports and recreation area behind the village hall, comprising a children’s play area, multi-sports court and changing rooms. Bowen’s Field, adjacent to the Stourport Road, was purchased by the Parish Council on behalf of the village in 2009 using Section 106 money from the Fountain Court development. The field was named after Doug Bowen, a former Chairman of the Parish Council and includes a football pitch, picnic tables, wildflower meadow area, a pond and a small plantation of ornamental trees. A circuit of outdoor adult exercise equipment is a recent addition to the amenities.
These facilities are managed by The Quartergreen Committee, a team of dedicated volunteers who are a sub-committee of the Village Hall.
