Golden Stars Childminding

I aim to provide a happy, secure, caring and stimulating home-based environment for boys and girls to learn, develop and grow.

I am based in Gorslas, close to the local park, shop, indoor play centre and playgroups. I am married with 2 children, my son who is 8 and my daughter who is 7 months old. We also have pet fish which my children love to help look after and watch. Both my husband and I are DBS checked and I am qualified in NCMA Childminding and hold a valid paediatric First Aid Qualification.

I am currently going through my registration with Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW) which will allow me to provide care for up to 6 children under the age of 8. I also offer out of school care and holiday club for children over the age of 8. I am looking at being fully registered by February 2016.

I offer full time, part time, holiday, weekend and one off places. I do not have fixed hours of work: my hours of work will be negotiated on an individual basis with the parent(s) and a contract signed with these stated hours. I am registered to work from 6am until 10pm and I am happy to work 7 days a week, including bank holidays. I am able to work hours that fit shift patterns, I can be flexible to meet the requirements of each child. My service is open to all children and families.

I offer settling in periods which parents are welcome to stay for a couple of hours and then the children can be left in my care, free of charge, to ensure that the children are comfortable within my setting.

Play will be at the centre of your child’s learning and development, and a wide range of activities and experiences appropriate to the age and stage of development will be offered. I have a regular routine in the household that revolves around playtimes, rest times and meal times.

When organising activities I take into consideration age, ability and stage of development. Activities include storytelling, singing and musical instruments, role play, construction toys and jigsaws. Some adult led activities include arts and crafts, walks and baking/cooking.

My first language is English, however I will use Welsh where I can.

I have a secure back garden which is available for children to play in and a play area situated within a 2 minute walk containing slide, swings, toddler equipment, basketball hoop and room for ball games. Children will also be taken to the local playgroups (Ti a fi), indoor play centres and shops on a regular basis. I have my own car which will be used to pick up and drop off children if required.
