Fabulous hotels are about passion, and for us, it is as much about family and our fantastic team as it is about the guests. We get to know every guest, and encourage a real team spirit, and do our very best to make everyone feel ‘at home’. We are all passionate about Gilpin, and it shows in every area.

Training… and pride in what we do

We are all very proud of Gilpin, and proud to work here and meet our amazing guests. Training is hugely important within the hotel and we have a great intranet and training system in place to help us with this. As part of Relais & Chateaux we can offer great career opportunities, whether you choose to stay with us long term or would like the opportunity to work in different parts of the world.

Awards

The family and team are very proud to have been voted the English Tourist Board Awards for Excellence ‘Small Hotel of the Year 2011′, ‘AA England Hotel of the Year 2011’, ‘Catey Independent Hotel of the Year 2012’ and ‘Condé Nast Johansens Most Excellent Country House Hotel 2013’. AA 3 Rosettes, AA 4 Red Stars, a Relais & Châteaux hotel.

Food – Guests & Staff

We have held 3 AA rosettes for over 17 years, and specialise in fine dining. Our food is imaginative and enticing, and each dish has a carefully matched wine. There are no weddings, functions or conferences at Gilpin; the restaurant is exclusively fine dining with an average of 48 covers per night.

We also have a dedicated staff café serving home-cooked fresh food for all staff on duty (free!).

Staff Accommodation

We have fantastic subsidised staff accommodation at very reasonable rates, from £120-£330 per month including bills.

Spa

We have membership of the Old England Spa which staff are welcome to use. Facilities includes a 20 metre swimming pool, gym, steam room, sauna, ice room and aromatherapy shower.
