The Friends of Healey Dell are over 10 years old and have proven their effectiveness in many ways. For example: contribution and input into the management of Healey Dell via representation on the Healey Dell Nature Reserve Joint Management Committee.
As a pressure group campaigning to protect from development which could impact negatively on the reserve.
Undertaking practical Tasks such as River Cleans, Litter Picks, Cutting/bashing of Himalayan Balsam and Japanese Knotweed and tree coppicing.
Preparing an Annual Event Program in conjunction with the Ranger service.
Providing expert lead walks and talks on the local history, flora and fauna of the Dell.
The Friends organise a Social Evening / Quiz Night around Christmas They also provide barbecues at some of the outdoor events.
