More about Freke Arms

The Freke Arms is situated on the Hannington turning on the B4019, 1½ miles from Highworth (A361) and 2½ miles from Blunsdon (A419) in the heart of the north Wiltshire countryside.

Named after a family of local landowners, The Freke Arms was built in the early 1800s on the instructions of (then known) Henry Freke to entice the farm workers over from the nearby Quaker village of Stanton Fitzwarren.

Bought by Arkell's in 1892 and altered to its present state in 1966, it still retains much of its character of pubs of that era, one of its main attractions with customers of all ages.
excellent fresh homecooked food
Just 5 mins from A419
Unspoilt, traditional pub
Garden area with countryside views

Traditional food and a warm, friendly welcome are two more of the trademarks of what we would describe as our very comfortable and genuinely unspoilt gastro pub.

As well as a large car park, a ¾ acre paddock is available for extra parking or for special events, i.e. car rallies etc.
garden area also enjoys magnificent views of the Wiltshire rolling countryside.

Coaches are welcome by appointment.
