Lauren Guest RVN cert VNRT - I am a fully qualified and RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse providing pet sitting services to our local community. I qualified in Feb 2012 and have worked locally in Brecon - I am currently employed by Abbey Vets Brecon, working mainly at their Abergavenny Branch. I also have a certificate as a Veterinary Nurse Rehabilitation Therapist providing canine physiotherapy to our clients.

As Veterinary nurses we are able to provide that little bit more for you and your pets . Within our training to become qualified as Veterinary Nurses we must under-go extensive written and practical examinations over a course of 2 or 3 years whilst working within a Veterinary Practice. Veterinary nurses are vital to the running of a successful veterinary practice, and are responsible for working with veterinary surgeons to provide care and treatment to a variety of different animals such as dogs, cats and rabbits. Being a vet nurse can be challenging; the role sometimes involves long and unsociable hours, however the sense of purpose that comes from nursing an ill animal back to health, and the long-lasting friendships fostered whilst working as part of a close knit team, make becoming a veterinary nurse a worthwhile ambition.
We are fully qualified and trained which is why we can bring so much more to you and your pet than your usual pet sitter.
We are trained to:
- Perform first aid
- Care for sick/geriatric animals and administer medication safely and effectively.
- Clip nails
- Advise owners on the health and welfare of their pets
- Discuss topics such as diet & nutrition, worming, flea treatments etc and advise the best products for your pets.

- Services not included - Home boarding - We do not currently have the facilities to have pets stay overnight at our home but we can offer a day-care service
