Food For Thoughts

We are on a mission and that mission is to bring poetry to the masses of Gloucester and create something special for people to enjoy.

The Cafe Rene Cellar Bar presents ''Food For Thoughts''.

A new monthly afternoon at Cafe Rene where the Cellar Bar is transformed into an underground speakeasy lounge where poets can come down and share their work and love for poetry.

All forms of poetry are accepted and originality is encouraged to make this one of the most diverse poetry sessions around.

The event will be hosted by Kishi of The Going Goods, Prime Position and Dave Dunwell. We will be performing some of our material as well to get everyone in the mood for sharing.

To perform just turn and we will curate a line up on the day and ensure everyone gets a go.

A full bar will be open which will also be serving hot drinks as well.

The event is open to all 16+ but please be aware some of the content will be of an adult nature.

This event is the first step towards building up to a bigger event on national poetry day Thursday 8th October. Hopefully it'll grow month by month and we can do something big for poetry in the city!
