More about Elin's Tower

Elin's Tower is a short castellated tower located around 4km west of Holyhead, Anglesey. Built between 1820 and 1850 by the locally well known Stanley family from Penrhos, it was originally used as a summer house. Today the tower serves as an RSPB information centre, shop and cafe for the reserve it is in as well as affording good view of South Stack and its lighthouse. On the 12 May 2007 it was targeted by vandals who smashed one of the window's meaning that the tower had to be closed for a day. It was thought that people had had a party during the night at the site and become drunk.
