East Anglian Dragon Boat Festival organised by Gable Events

Gable Events has again joined with East Coast Hospice to bring you the East Anglian Dragon Boat Festival! It is recognised as one of the most popular corporate team-building events within East Anglia, attracting teams from companies and organisations across the region.

Teams of up to 11 people are invited to take part, no previous experience is required and all equipment including the magnificent 30’ dragon boats, paddles and safety jackets is provided – all you need to worry about is getting a team together to join in the fun! Up to 52 teams will battle it out during the day aiming to become the champions, with each team taking on the 200m course at least three times followed by semi-finals and a final between the fastest teams to determine the winners. However, if your paddling-prowess isn’t Olympic-standard all is not lost as there are also prizes for the best-dressed crew, the highest-placed mixed crew and the crew that raise the most money for East Coast Hospice!

There is always plenty to do on the bank including tasty food stalls and bar, a fun fair, Chinese lion dances, inflatables and street entertainment, the support of our media partners The Lowestoft Journal and The Beach along with the endorsement of Waveney District Council, the Festival is always extremely well attended and a great day out for everyone.

Your safety is paramount and all of our events are supervised by experienced staff including the qualified helms that steer the boats. We carry £5m public liability insurance, adhere to all recommended codes of practice and health & safety guidelines and are approved by the sport’s governing body (The British Dragon Boat Racing Association).
