Ealing Soup Kitchen became a registered charity last year that was set up to help the vulnerable and homeless in the area, despite the fact that the Soup Kitchen itself has been running for over 40 years. We want to get the word out that we're here to help - and that you can too.
It is currently managed by a board of trustees and a part time homeless worker.
Currently, we run a drop in service on a Friday where clients can get free clothes, cup of tea/coffee and a biscuit, play some games and also visit St Mungos, a local housing charity for advice. Many come in seeking advice over council / legal / benefits enquires, which we also endeavour to help them with. We also have plans to run an art class, get a free hairdressing service in, and have just started a monthly film class. On the weekends we offer food and a sense of community and belonging in our Soup Kitchen, and on Sundays even a church service for those who want it afterwards.
