Discover Ltd came into existence in 1978, running overland educational tours to Morocco in Landrovers.

Building on the success of the original “Hobo Travel”, in 1986 the Eagle’s Nest was opened by the newly-formed Discover Ltd as a permanent fieldwork base in the Cévennes, in central southern France.

A former Colonie de Vacances, the Eagle’s Nest goes from strength to strength, and has welcomed over a thousand school groups and twenty thousand students from around the world during its twenty plus years of operation. Indeed, several staff originally came to the Eagle’s Nest as students or student teachers, and have returned to the Nest with students of their own.

Following on from Discover’s earlier work in Morocco, 1990 saw the purchase of Kasbah du Toubkal, a former caïdal palace overlooking Imlil in the High Atlas of Morocco. True to its roots, despite the success of this now internationally renowned mountain retreat, Kasbah du Toubkal remains open to teachers and students from around the world, who can stay within its walls, conducting fieldwork and learning about the fragile and evolving mountain environment around Imlil.
