Discover Amazonia

Discover Amazonia, situated within M&D's at Strathclyde Park, is Scotland's only indoor tropical rainforest, packed full of exotic plants and animals.

Come along and see Fergal the monkey, or Coco the Channel-Billed Toucan! We house around 70 different species of animals, from frogs and snakes, to tarantulas and monkeys and many more!

Each day we have various animal feeds and talks for you to come along to. You can also experience 'Amazonia Interactive' which will digitally transport you into our on-screen rainforest to experience the magic of the jungle.

Join us for our daily animal handling sessions, at 1pm, 3pm and 4:30pm (with extra times added during busy periods) where you will get the chance to meet and greet various species such as snakes, geckos, hissing cockroaches, tarantulas and more! Animal handling can be booked on arrival for £1 per person (under 3's are free, three animals are shown each session, where any specific species cannot be guaranteed).

Throughout the year we will also be hosting addition events to support other wildlife charities, and learn more about the natural world. Keep an eye out on our events page to see what's happening each month.

Know any young wildlife enthusiasts?! Here at Amazonia we run a kids activity club, Amazonia Explorers, aimed at ages 7-10 years, where we will explore a different theme each week, using crafts, games and experiments to learn about the natural world and the animals that live in it! (Amazonia Explorers runs for 7 weeks in the Spring, Summer and Autumn, on Saturdays 3-5pm.
