More about Diana Miller MSTAT Alexander Technique

The Technique was developed by F. M. Alexander over 100 years ago and now it is taught all over the world.

Teacher and pupil work together on a one-to-one basis; the pupil gradually begins to understand what he/she is doing to exacerbate or cause the tension which can lead to pain as a result of how he/she moves. Over a set of lessons the pupil will discover, as he/she puts the principles of the technique into practice, that his/her pain/tension melts away or is much reduced. The pupil is then empowered to continue working with the Technique in his/her own life.

The Alexander Technique is simple to learn; all ages can benefit by learning the principles of the technique. Diana has worked with actors, singers and musicians who have long benefited from the technique but nowadays a wide spectrum of people, from those who work with computers to busy mothers, come to the technique.

Diana Miller is a fully qualified, insured teacher and a member of STAT (society of teachers of the Alexander Technique), the oldest professional body in the history of the Alexander Technique.

Diana taught at the Brighton Alexander School for several years after qualifying before setting up her own practice in Forest Row.

Diana taught at the Brighton Alexander training college for two years after qualifying before going on to set up her own practice in Forest Row and has been teaching for ten years.

Previous to teaching the technique, Diana who has a B.Ed, taught children whose first language was not English in state schools in Sussex for several years.

Diana works with a wide spectrum of clients; busy mothers, children, those who work with horses, those suffering back and neck pain or pain from arthritis, RSI developed through poor use on the computer and performance artists.

Diana also works with those who are in good health and wish to improve the quality of their life.

Diana works on a one-to- one basis with her pupils. During the initial consultation, which lasts an hour, Diana will advise the number of lessons she feels are needed and the best way to proceed.
Diana is happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the technique on the telephone.
