Delia's Restaurant, Norwich City Football Club

Aside from her husband, obviously, Delia Smith has two main passions in life: food and football. She has supported Norwich City Football Club since the 1970s. The Canaries, as they are known, play at Carrow Road to capacity crowds of just over 27,000 and Delia, clad in her favourite green and yellow scarf, goes to most home and away matches. She has a real sense of fun and loves sitting with the fans – enthusiastically joining in with some of the less boisterous songs!

Delia’s innovation and talent as a cookery writer, author and television personality, brought her huge success and she joined the Norwich City FC board of directors in 1996, at a time when the club’s finances were in a very precarious state. She helped stabilise the club and made it her mission to boost off-field revenue streams, such as Delia’s Canary Catering, to improve the club’s finances and involvement with the local community. She is now, together with her husband Michael Wynn-Jones, City's joint majority shareholder.

For Delia, the club is at the heart of the community and people are at the heart of everything she does. Delia has revitalized the catering offer and the club now boasts her own restaurant, open every Friday and Saturday evening, as well as Yellows bar and grill, which offers a discount card to local residents. In addition the club offers full facilities for conferences, meetings, receptions, dinners, weddings and special events, and a range of matchday catering options.
