Dandelion Lodge is run by Mel Page who has decided to turn her home and garden into a holiday hotel for rabbits, guineapigs and other small animals. With over ten years experience of working and caring for a variety of animals you know they will be well cared for. Mel also has rabbits and guineapigs of her own and regularly volunteers at a local rabbit rescue providing foster care at home when required. She also knows how important space and exercise is for each individual so will ensure that each animal will get as much space and free run time as possible.

Indoor Boarding
Guinea pigs are housed in indoor plastic cages lined with newspaper and wood litter pellets or wood shavings. Each has a small house, tunnel and wooden nibble toy as well as water bottle and food bowl. Owners are encouraged to bring their own toys to help them settle in. Guinea pigs can exercise in pen or run around during floor time in secure lounge area. We can also transfer them to outside exercise pens if preferred.
Rabbits are housed in indoor plastic cages or dog crates with attached runs all depending on your rabbits size. This ensures that they can stretch up or lie down comfortably and run around exploring as all rabbits should. Each comes with a large litter tray full of newspaper and hay for them to dig and play in as well as blankets, toys and the usual water bottles and bowls. Extra exercise can be taken in a secure lounge where they have room to binky and run around to their hearts content. On the other hand we can also offer outside exercise in our secure yard weather permitting.
Hamsters, mice, rats and gerbils can enjoy hanging around in our spacious indoor cages. Each has warm snuggly hamocks, mini houses, tunnels and play toys or if you prefer you can bring your own to help them settle in.

What happens if my pet falls ill whilst in your care?

Should the worst happen your loved one will be taken to our local vets for treatment. Before boarding you will be asked to sign a form giving permission for us to carry out any veterinary treatment required. We will ring you before any treatment takes place and ask you to repay the vets bills on your return.
