University Technical Colleges (UTCs) offer 14-19 year olds the opportunity to take a highly-regarded, full-time, technically-oriented course of study. They are equipped to the highest standard, sponsored by a university and offer clear progression routes into higher education or further learning in work.
We believe that young people locally, regionally and nationally, have an enormous amount to gain from having access to a high-quality, engineering-based education. Our aim is for our UTC to develop outstanding employable young people to become the next generation of highly skilled technicians and engineers to support the industries of Cheshire East and beyond.
This education will lead to great opportunities in Higher Education through our link with MMU Cheshire and is designed to open doors to highly skilled jobs in the industries that are supporting our UTC. That could mean heading into the rail industry via OSL Rail’s planned training academy, or working in Bentley Motor’s new SUV manufacturing plant in Crewe.
