More about Craskie Estate

Craskie Estate is a 155 acre, secluded, picturesque highland estate. Located in Glencannich it is easily accessible from Inverness and Loch Ness but remote enough for you to relax away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

We are offering a cosy and historic highland lodge which sleeps 3+1 in a double, single and a sofa bed. The lodge has been fully and sympathetically re-furbished throughout and has an enclosed garden.

*New for 2016* we are now able to offer 2 wooden, Eco camping pods both comfortably sleeping 4. Both have a stunning loch view and their own decked terrace area with Weber BBQ and seating. The pods are fully insulated and heated making them the perfect way to get away from it all, whatever the weather!

We are very dog-friendly in the cottage and pods so don't forget to bring your four-legged friends along too.
Craskie has it's own loch, Loch Craskie, and beautiful stretch of the River Cannich. Both are well stocked with pike and wild brown trout providing excellent fishing. The estate is a favourite haunt for the magnificent Red Deer. They can be seen by the loch most evenings. In late Summer/Autumn when they are rutting, the stags' roars can be heard echoing around the glen. In addition to the deer is abundant bird-life with Stonechats, Winchats, Woodpeckers, Treecreepers, Woodcock, Great Tits, Buzzards and Golden Eagles to name but a few!

If Munro-bagging is your thing the area offers no less than 13! There are of course numerous less strenuous walks such as Plodda Falls and the Affric-Kintail way. The national nature reserve of Glen Affric is only a few miles away and has one of Scotland's largest remaining ancient pinewoods. The quiet glen roads are ideal for cycling and there are many mountain bike trails in the forests. Nearby at Cougie there is a trekking centre for those who prefer to explore on horse-back.
