Cotswold Equivets

Jacqui runs Cotswold Equivets from her home in Northleach in the Cotswolds. It was established in the autumn of 2013 and specialises in the all round veterinary care of horses from all disciplines and at all levels within those disciplines.

Jacqui gained her veterinary degree from the University of Liverpool in 1992, and subsequently worked in their world class equine hospital at Leahurst, Wirral. She then worked in equine referral practises in Yorkshire and Kent, before moving to the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh to complete a Residency in Equine Surgery. While at Edinburgh Jacqui also sat the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeon's Certificate in Equine Internal Medicine.

Jacqui's two passions are Equine Medicine and Soft Tissue Surgery, but she believes that it is important to approach all cases with an open mind, perform a thorough clinical examination, listen to and take note of the history provided by the client, and make a plan with the owner on a way forward in terms of diagnosis and treatment. She aims to provide all the information necessary for owners to make an informed decision on the treatment of their horses and ponies, and wants to be accessible to them at all times.

As a single vet practitioner, Jacqui must occasionally leave the area, and at these times, emergency back-up is provided in the Cotswolds by Bourton Vale Equine Clinic, and in the Forest of Dean area by Meadow Equine Practice. Both are clinics where Jacqui has previously worked, and with whom she has good relationships.
