More about Conflict Management Cornwall- RCHT

Managing ‘difficult’ behaviour can be a complex enough process; without the added complications of staff struggling to put into practice what they have learnt.

Our aim therefore, is to provide simple, transferable and effective approaches and skills, in a friendly and relaxed training environment.

Within the NHS, all frontline staff require Conflict Resolution Training, which whilst meeting national learning outcomes, can be tailored to meet staffing groups’ needs. Versions of this theory based training can be provided to non-nhs and non-care sectors.

Evaluation by manager (combined training / impact the training has on staffs clinical / working practice) – “it will have a massive impact in terms of assisting staff to cope in these situations and to use taught techniques”.

Evaluation (Induction - Medical Staff training) - "Best conflict skills training I’ve had yet– realistic and patient focussed".

When it comes to staff keeping themselves safe in their working environments, staff need to understand their rights and balance these with the risk presented.

Our Personal Training offers staff a range of approaches to managing intentional or non intentional (clinically related) behaviours. Importantly tailored to meet need, risks and organisational values.

Evaluation (external organisation / how course compared to previous training) – “thought the course was particularly good as all the techniques were simplified and seem more natural”

Restrictive Interventions (often called Restraint / Safe Holding / Physical Interventions) again are tailored to local or individual needs. Uncomplicated, yet effective techniques, are taken from an independently risk assessed (legal, tactical and medical) curriculum; which itself is extensively used nationally.

Evaluation (impact on working practice) - “I will be able to put what I have learnt into practice when dealing with more difficult patients when they may be aggressive”

We also offer training and support on a one-to-one level & support organisations with risk assessing / identifying training needs.
