More about Colin Williamson Prints

Colin Williamson has painted watercolours of the landscapes of wide areas of Britain.

For Scotland, there are prints of the Highlands and Islands, Edinburgh, and Dumfries and Galloway. The Northumberland range features the castles and beaches of the coast, the Cheviot areas of the Northumberland National Park, and Hadrian’s Wall country. There are also paintings of Durham and the North Pennines. For Yorkshire, there are paintings of the landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales, North Yorkshire Moors and coast. There are many pictures featuring the Lake District National Park and other areas of Cumbria. Additionally, there are a number of ‘general’ rural pictures which feature the farms, sheep and dry stone- walls, typifying large areas of the British countryside.

A Family Business

Colin Williamson studied at Manchester School of Art, and subsequently had a varied career including service in the R.A.F. and teaching in higher education.
He became a full time artist in 1978, and has since enjoyed travelling across Britain in order to capture its varied landscapes in watercolour.
He lives near Whitby, on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors.

Colin Williamson Prints is a family business and was established in order to make Colin’s paintings available to a wider public.
His son Robert Williamson, also from Whitby, is now responsible for the overall direction of the business as well as producing the frames, and the framing, mounting and print production. His wife, Catherine helps with the admin and production of the sublimation side of the business on to mugs, coasters and place mats.
The business has been running for nearly 30 years and we still have many customers who started to deal with us when we started.
