Clix and Trix

Clix and Trix is a small, supportive and super friendly Dog Training Club. I'm a Certified Trick Dog Instructor with a passion for dog training, I have a diploma in Canine Behaviour and Dog Training. My aim is to help you have a much happier and stronger relationship with your dogs by teaching you fun tricks, obedience, beginners agility, puppy socialisation and much more. We will be using FORCE FREE training methods ONLY, by using Positive Reinforcement (+R), Conditioning, Shaping and Clicker Training.

Clicker Training is a fantastic method to quickly and efficiently mark and reward your dogs desired behaviour. The only tricky part is being quick enough. Clicker training gives your dog clear communication that what he's doing is correct, treating that behaviour then strengthens the desire your dog will have to do that behaviour again. It makes shaping much clearer and much easier for your dog to grasp.

Force Free Training methods are the way forward, your dog has a natural desire to please you - so we work with it. If your dog is having fun and being rewarded for doing something - then he's naturally going to do it more. We reinforce the behaviour we want by giving them something they enjoy, a toy, a treat, praise, touch, kisses etc. Ignoring the unwanted behaviour and reinforcing the wanted behaviour.

Please make sure your dog is wearing a harness or a flat collar (harnesses are preferred) Halti's and Canny's are fine for those who use them but a harness is needed when your dog is on the long line. I don't want ANY adversive 'training tools' used on any of the dogs, that includes - Slip Leads, Semi Chokes, Chokes, Prongs etc. They are NOT necessary and not welcome in my club.
