Clarkes of London Coaches

The company was first established in 1958 by Mr Edwin ‘Snowy’ Clarke and Lillian Clarke, who at the time traded predominantly as a small time haulier transporting coal within South East London area. Initially providing the odd trip to the seaside for the local children, the business soon developed into providing coaches for local schools and clubs. In 1972 Snowy's eldest son, Bill Clarke together with his wife, who were already involved in the company, took control and began to broaden the services provided by the business. Since Bill`s retirement, control of the company has passed to his eldest daughter Deborah, who has continued the philosophy of the business, however has also developed the business further by adapting to the rapidly changing markets and quick to take on new challenges and opportunities.

Outgrowing our previous base in Anerley, South East London, Clarkes headquarters moved to our current three acre site at Kangley Bridge Road, Lower Sydenham in 1992. With purpose built offices, workshops and bodyshop, high level security and sufficient parking for up to 100 vehicles it is an enviable location so close to London. Our commuter fleet is conveniently located at our Kent depot.

Our continued investment in our fleet, new technology and staff as well as the continuous re-branding has proven to be an important factor in what this company represents today.
