The British Isles are renowned world over for the quality of their products and craftsmanship, with British craftsmanship reaching prominence in the 1800's and 1900's. However today, as in many parts of the world, British craftsmanship has given way to cheaper imports from abroad and British made products have become harder to find.

Clandar is based in the heart of the stunning UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath, England. We're nestled besides spectacular Bath Abbey and are just a stone's throw from the world famous Roman Baths and the Pump Room. We are run from an historic grade listed townhouse built over 227 years ago in 1789, during the Georgian period, where our shop is based and we also have a website that makes our British ranges available internationally, www.clandar.co.uk.

At Clandar we work closely with textile mills in England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales, to source and offer the finest quality textiles available. Many of the mills we work with have been in existence since the late 1700's and early 1800's. They were founded during the British industrial revolution and have been perfecting the process of making fine quality textiles for hundreds of years. Investing in an article produced by these mills is akin to obtaining a piece of history and heritage.

We focus on clothing made from the highest quality fabrics, such as pure merino lambswool, grade A quality Scottish cashmere and handwoven Harris tweed.

We now create our own ranges of exclusive men's and ladies clothing all tailored for us in the British Isles. For these we source the finest British tweeds and then source gorgeous linings, buttons and trims, which we literally post to our British tailors, where they are turned into exclusive lines of clothing to our own designs. These include tweed caps, waistcoats, capes and ties and will be shortly joined by men's and ladies tweed jackets, coats and gloves.
