More about Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, Oxford

The Centre for Medieval & Renaissance Studies was founded in 1975 by Drs John and Sandy Feneley to achieve two purposes: first, to establish in Oxford a permanent institute for the interdisciplinary study of the Medieval, Renaissance and Early Modern periods; second, to provide an academic training for overseas students who wish to complete part of their education in Oxford but are not matriculated members of the University. CMRS’s curriculum is rooted in the liberal arts tradition: qualified students from all disciplines are welcome to apply.

CMRS is conveniently located right in the heart of Oxford and is affiliated to Keble College, which is within a few minutes' walk from the Centre. Keble College is where the CMRS students dine and have full access to their library. However, if they wish, the students can purchase groceries and keep them in CMRS kitchen. CMRS also has its own Junior Common Room and the students Integral, Seminar, and, often, their tutorials are held within the Centre.
