Cellobabies is developed for teaching cello and general musicianship to 4 to 6 year-olds. It's adopted as a way-in to reading music in step with development of instrumental technique and aural skills.
What pleases me the most is how the method can be used to develop sight-reading and aural, as well as note-reading skills. Using characters and magnetic symbols, my cellists compose their own music from the very beginning, whatever their age or experience.
I studied cello with Susanna Riddell (London Philharmonic Orchestra), then Ioan Davies (currently Yehudi Menuhin School) as a music student at Bristol University. With over 15 years' experience both privately and in schools, I provide tuition to children and adults from beginner to Grade 8 and music theory to Grade 5. All piano accompanying provided.
A cellist in the Cambridge Philharmonic Orchestra and member of the European String Teachers Association, I teach privately from my (pet-free, smoke-free) home located between Cambridge and Huntingdon.
