My name is Cat Hodges and I'm a BHS acredited riding instructor. I've spent all of my life working with horses and have discovered a passion for teaching the sport. I teach classical methods in realtion to biomechanics and always combine my methods with those already practiced by my clients. I strive to challenge your comfort zone without pushing you too far out of it; and combine classical techniques with classical techniques to give my clients clear and relatable explanations of things that can often be challenging.
I have spent a great deal of time training and retraining horses, from dressage and riding school horses to racehorses. My most recent retrained racehorse won his first dressage test within 2 months' training. I have competed in dressage, show jumping, cross country and showing and have experience of hunting. I have most recently focussed on dressage and the use of rider position and bodyweight, so ensure that my clients understand the impact that position alone can have.
I always try to integrate my methods with those of my client, so that all learning is continuous development. For example, if a client is interested in Parelli I will endeavour to explain my methods in relatable terms. I believe that you never stop learning and I am keen to do so from everyone I meet.
