The Cambridge story began in 1534 when Henry VIII granted us letters patent, allowing the Press to print ‘all manner of books.’ We published our first book in 1584, making us the oldest publishing house in the world.

In the 1970’s, the English Language Teaching publishing stream was created and is now one of the world’s leading publishers in the industry. Our products are used by people in nearly every country across the world to teach and learn the English language and measure students’ progress.
