Cambridge Dragon Boat Festival organised by Gable Events

Now in its 13th year, the Cambridge Dragon Boat Festival is recognised as one of the most popular corporate team-building events within Cambridge and the surrounding area, attracting over 40 teams last year from companies and organisations across the region. Gable Events has again joined forces with Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust and entered teams are encouraged to raise sponsorship for this fantastic charity.

Teams of up to 11 people are invited to take part, no previous experience is required and all equipment including the magnificent 30’ dragon boats, paddles and safety jackets is provided – all you need to worry about is getting a team together to join in the fun! Up to 52 teams will battle it out on the day, with each team taking on the 200m course at least three times and the best going through to semi-finals and a final to determine the winners. However, if your paddling prowess isn’t Olympic standard all is not lost as there are also prizes for the best-dressed crew, the highest placed mixed crew and the crew that raises the most money for Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust.

There is always plenty to do on the bank when you’re not racing including some tasty food stalls, bar, Chinese dancing demonstrations, inflatables and a fun fair, and with the endorsement of Cambridge Edition and Star Radio, the event is always extremely well attended and a great day out for everyone.

Your safety is paramount and all of our dragon boat events are supervised by experienced staff including the BDA qualified helms that steer the boats. We carry £5m public liability insurance, adhere to all recommended codes of practice and health & safety guidelines and are fully approved by the sport’s governing body (The British Dragon Boat Racing Association).
