Caddick Construction have been awarded the design and construction of a new industrial development at Knottingley, Wakefield. The scheme known as Cross Point will include two large scale distribution warehouses, Phase 1 providing almost 1.4 million sq. ft. of floor space.

Situated between the A1 (M) and A162, just off Junction 33 of the M62, Cross Point Wakefield is ideally located as a hub for the distribution of goods, the site is perfectly positioned for accessing local, regional and national transport routes.

The scheme will be delivered in two phases. Phase I, approximately 1,370,622 sq. ft. of floor space and Phase II, a development of another 600,000 sq. ft.

Caddick will undertake the construction of a single storey warehouse and processing unit together with three storey office accommodation, non-merchandise store, battery charging unit, recycling units, external site works including hard standings, car parking, landscaping and drainage.

The warehouse and processing building will consist of a structural steel multi span portal frame.

The warehouse and processing centre will include glazing at each upper floor of the mezzanine to afford natural light to the workforce, the glazing to be on three elevations.
