C4DI, or the Centre of Digital Innovation, is Hull’s first dedicated workspace and venue for digital and technology companies.

In a report by Capgemini carried out over two years, they quantified the digital advantage. In a global survey of nearly 400 large companies, they found that the digirati are 26% more profitable, drive 9% more revenue from their physical assets, and earn 12% higher market valuations than their peers in the same industry. Some companies excel in investing in technologies such as social media and analytics. Other firms have strong capabilities to manage transformation. The digirati excel in both dimensions, and achieve better performance than their competitors.

Our starting point is therefore that digital maturity matters in every industry.

Why beta?

The C4DI is going to be a multi-million pound development which will the centrepiece of the digital and creative industries’ quarter around the Fruit Market. However, this is 18-24 months away. In true digital-style, we have launched the Beta version so we have something up and running now, we start to grow businesses, create jobs and innovate, plus, importantly, we learn what works and what doesn’t. We want to listen and act on feedback from the tenants and the community from the word go, to make this the best possible workspace.
