Livestream Gameplay to Facebook


This is a short guide on how to stream gameplay from your PC to Facebook.

Youre going to need streaming software such as Xsplit, and a facebook "PAGE" like this one - https://www.facebook.com/BWAFesports/

Set the page up as you would set up a twitch channel. Once your page is set up there is an option at the top of the page called Publishing Tools.

Click that, then click Video on the left hand side. Then click the Live button. This will bring up a box which contains your RTMP URL and your Stream key.

Now launch your streaming software. For this guide we are using Xsplit Broadcaster so the process may vary slighty for other software, but the basic principle is the same.

We now want to setup a new stream output. In Xplit you click - Outputs - Setup a new output. You then select the Custom RTMP option, this is what you are trying to achieve in whatever software you use, and new Custom RTMP link stream output.

Now for Xsplit you use the RTMP URL and stream key seperatley, in other software you may have to use the combined URL and Key link that Facebook provides.

In Xsplit, copy the RTMP URL that Facebook provided, into the RTMP URL box in Xsplit. Then copy the Stream Key from Facebook into the Stream Name section.

Finally give the new output a name at the top, and make sure your Bitrate Setting is 2000 or below, otherwise Facebook will close the stream.

Click ok, and now your output to Facebook is ready to go. Once you have the rest of your stream setup and ready to go, click on the new Output to start streaming to Facebook.

If you return to Facebook and click preview on the RTMP link window we used earlier, Facebook will show you a preview of your stream, and the option to make the stream live.

Once you are ready, set the stream live, and share a link to your stream wherever you can.
